Most people put off hauling junk for one reason: they don’t know what it’s going to cost, and they don’t want to wait around for someone to come look at it. At Alpine Junk Removal, we handle that part through your phone. You text us photos, we send back a firm price, and we come the next business day.
The better your photos, the easier that is for everyone. Here’s how to take photos that give us a clear picture of the job.
Why Photos Work
A good set of photos shows us what’s going, how much of it there is, and where it sits. That’s what we need to price a job. You don’t have to clean up first, measure anything, or know the right name for every item. Just show us what you want gone.
There’s no price list on this page, and that’s on purpose. The price comes from your photos, so it fits your job instead of a guess.
What to Photograph
Think of it like showing a friend the job before they help you move.
- Start wide. Stand back and take one photo that shows the whole pile or the whole room. This tells us the overall size of the job.
- Then get closer. Take a few photos of each pile or group of items from a couple of angles. Things hide behind other things.
- Show the big pieces on their own. Couches, mattresses, dressers, refrigerators, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, and old exercise equipment are worth their own photo.
- Include something for scale. A door frame, a car, or a person standing nearby helps us judge size.
- Open the doors. If there’s stuff in a closet, crawl space, shed, or under the stairs that’s also going, take a photo of that too.
- Use daylight when you can. For a garage, open the big door. For a basement, turn on every light.
Show Us Where Everything Is
Where the items sit matters as much as what they are. A couch in the driveway and a couch in a basement are two different jobs. A quick photo or a line of text about the path out helps:
- Is it in a garage, a backyard, a basement, or an upstairs bedroom?
- Are there stairs, tight hallways, or a gate to get through?
- Is there a place to park near the door?
What to Put in Your Text
Along with the photos, a few words go a long way:
- Your general location in Longmont, so we know where we’re headed.
- What’s going and what’s staying. If the photo shows a garage full of stuff but the workbench and the bikes are staying, say so. Pointing at the keep items in a photo works too.
- Anything you’re not sure about. Old paint cans, chemicals, propane tanks, or tires should be mentioned up front so we can talk about them before we come.
- Light demolition debris. If you tore out old shelving, a small deck section, or some drywall, let us know what it is and roughly how much.
Get Everything in Frame the First Time
The price we send is based on what’s in your photos. So it pays to walk the whole space once before you start snapping. Check the side yard, the back of the garage, and the corners of the basement. If you remember something else before we come, text another photo so we’re both working from the same picture.
What Happens After You Text
Here’s the process, start to finish:
- You text photos of what you want hauled away.
- We look them over and send you a firm price.
- If the price works for you, we set it up and come the next business day.
- We load it up, and every load gets sorted. We donate and recycle whatever we can.
That’s it. No guessing on your end and no waiting around for someone to come take a look first.
The Kinds of Jobs This Works For
Photo pricing works for most of what we do around Longmont and the surrounding areas:
- General junk removal, from a single item to a full load
- Garage cleanouts
- Estate cleanouts
- Move-out cleanouts
- Appliance and furniture haul-off
- Light demolition debris
If you’re not sure whether your job fits, send the photos anyway and ask.
Ready When You Are
Take a few minutes, walk the space, and get your photos together. Wide shot, close-ups, the big pieces, and the path out. That’s all we need to get you a firm price.
